Some of you may not know but I’ve had a YouTube channel dedicated to Bucket for some time now. It’s not called BHO because when I created it, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to use it for. Then I discovered Buckethead and that’s who I dedicated my channel to.

So you’ll notice the new widget on the side that links to my BHO YouTube channel and the video clips I’ve linked to. Please bear in mind I don’t own any of the clips on my channel, they are merely clips that I’ve added to my favourites from other Buckethead YouTube fan channels such as Petesbloodyhand (which is one of my favourite Buckethead channels).

Feel free to add me on YouTube if you’ve got a channel, I almost always add people if they’re into Buckethead or music in general (yeah, some guy that composes orchestral music even added me lol)

I apologised a while ago for being absent here at BHO – the website I created so long ago. But I feel that I’ve really let down the fans of Buckethead and the people who bothered to comment and frequent my site.

Most of all, if you’ve emailed me thinking I am Buckethead or that I am in some way affiliated to him, my apologies. I guess my website sometimes gives the impression that I may be affiliated to Bucket or that I may know him. Alas fellow bots, no. I am just like you – Buckethead’s humble servant bot and nothing more.

So to all those bots that emailed me hoping for a reply from Buckethead, sorry. I did try to forward some of your requests on your behalf to the appropriate place but whatever happens from that point on is up to fate to decide.

And that’s kinda all I wanted to say about that.

But I will do my best to keep posting here. I know I promised updates once before, but people keep coming back here (as the google analytics tell me so!) and the least I can do is keep the faith and continue to do what I do best… keep BHO alive.

Happy New Year my fellow bots! I hope you’ve had a great holiday. Here is the first BHO post for the new year! It’s old (from the Masters of Horror soundtrack 2005) but I had never seen it before so I’m posting the clips here. Even though Buckethead doesn’t talk much, he is by far the coolest person on earth with his detached electronic head! Check out the part when Buckethead moves the head – it’s too cool!

This post is a combination of news, a thankyou and an apology. Firstly, the apology – I am very sorry for not updating my fellow bots. Life’s journey it seems has taken me away from my favourite place but rest assured, the path back to the coop will be walked upon again! I’ve had very little time to write about Buckethead but since I’m planning (yep, still planning) my trip to the States next year to see him live, I’ve gathered  new momentum. So it’s all on!

With that I bring you a little news update from College Times listing their top seven guitarists of all time. Buckethead isn’t listed in the top seven but he gets an honourable mention. Agree, disagee? What do you think of their choices? Obviously, being biased, I would have expected Buckethead to be listed in the top seven however, their list is pretty good. They’ve got Jimi at the top with Steve Vai and Eric Clapton whom I also really like and I was surprised to see Stevie Ray Vaughan listed (although I am not denying his talent as a guitarist in any way). And finally a HUGE thankyou to the bots who keep coming back to my website even though I’ve been awful at updating it I used to get around 30 – 50 returning visitors a month and now that number has grown to 300 returning visitors a month. I guess I must be doing something right so to honour all the loyal readers and lovers of Buckethead’s music, thankyou I shall do my utmost to keep the site updated

So I’m a writer… and sometimes I write poetry. I usually don’t do this unless I am feeling blue or feeling emotions I find hard to decipher. But there are other times inbetween where I just write because I feel inspired by someone or something at the time…

Buckethead has inspired some seriously freaky words from me in the past that I haven’t really shared with anyone until now. Bearing in mind I wasn’t quite myself alot of the time I was writing this stuff down so it might seem strange but hey, we <3 strange, don’t we bots? Yes, yes we do

So here are some silly little rhymes I put together to laugh at when I was feeling weird and funky

I found sanctuary in the lair of the Slunks and as the maniacal screams filled me with fear, I ran. The dark, damp secluded tomb of the Bansheebot was somehow open, and there was nowhere left to run… As I struggled through the twisted bones and debris I realised that Bucketheadland wasn’t far away… if only I could find the ticket – ‘Admit One. You can’t have Slaughter without Laughter’… I just knew this would be FUN!

Inspired by Night of the Slunks

With all my chickens, how can I work with the Slunks? There are too many to care for and my time is running out…

The temperature in the vats needs to be just right, the timing needs to be perfect. The recipe for plastination has been handed down from freak to freak… there is no need to act, no need to speak.

The blood tells its own story, but don’t worry… I’ll always save the jowls just for you…

Thanks to bunghole30‘s update on YouTube, the Buckethead Signature Les Paul Gibson guitar has now been released. It is priced at $4,311.00 USD (so that’s around $ 5,796.69 NZD for you New Zealanders) and wow, does it look fantastic!

This is BIG news for any guitarist or Buckethead fan. Wouldn’t it be great to get Buckethead’s official word on what he thinks about the guitar?

German website Optinal Mittlegrund had a few details about DCK in this interview with Giacomo from RareNoiseRecords.

Here are the details taken from the site regarding DCK, Buckethead and Bill Laswell:

[OM] What can you say about Death Cube K’s “Torn from Black Space”. As far as I know it was recorded some time ago but did not get released. Any background info would be fine. Are there any plans for new releases?

[Giacomo] Yes, it was the “unreleased” DCK. As far as new projects are concerned, I would be very interested, but I will be approaching Buckethead in future (or try to do so…) to discuss – we also would like to push the visual aspect of the DCK project, by getting the fan community involved in making dark videos to accompany the tracks…

[OM] Did you ever meet Buckethead in person? If so, what was it like?

[Giacomo] No, but I hope one day. I think he is amazing.

[OM] Can you tell me any news about Charged, a project by Eraldo, Laswell and Toshinori Kondo? Will there be any further releases?

[Giacomo] Yes, 2010, lineup of the record: Eraldo, Kondo, Laswell, Guy Licata, Ayib Dieng and Paolo Polcari (of Meditronica…)

I found this really well-written article about Buckethead over at the Listeningroom website. I manage to read quite a few articles written about Buckethead but most of them are either copies of the Wikipedia entry for Buckethead or just plain dull and boring.

This one however, is cool so I thought I would post it here. Whilst it doesn’t really reveal anything new about Buckethead as such, it does list Buckethead as one of the better guitarists around simply because he tends to fall ‘under-the-radar’. And that’s just plain cool in my book.

Here’s an excerpt from the article:

In 1992, he launched his recording career with Praxis, the first of several bands and side projects that Buckethead has launched over the years, augmenting his solo work.

But he remains an elusive and mysterious figure, guarding his identity and appearance in any public forum. Reportedly, he once missed out on a chance to join Ozzy Osbourne’s band at Ozzfest because he refused to perform without his trademark bucket and mask.

And the Buckethead character is something he takes a long way. The story he’s built around the persona is as bizarre as the costume: That he grew up abused on a farm and was forced to live in a chicken coop.

As any true Buckethead fan would know, Buckethead loves to collaborate with other musicians and his music can be found all over the place in very ‘hard-to’find’ places. So unless you’re really looking for everything he has released or gets involved in musically (or just reading alot like me lol), you’re probably gonna miss the smaller projects that sometimes go under the radar.

Well, have no fear because Bucketgirl is here to save the day (yes, I know that was hella cheesy, lol oh well)…:P
